You voted the Best of 2013!

Happy New Year to all our fans! 2013 was a great year for us, being named Label of the Year by multiple publications and sites, garnering a record 4 awards from Home Cinema Choice magazine and scoring multiple entries in various Top 10 of the year lists. But our most important feedback was from you, our fans – so with a juicy prize on offer we asked you to name your favourite Arrow release of the year, new cover artwork, reversible sleeve (original artwork), SteelBook design, extra, booklet and restoration. We were pleased to see a whopping number of entries as well as a wide variety of votes (more than 75% of our releases were voted for in all categories), showing everyone has very individual tastes. Here’s what came out on top for each category.

FAVOURITE RELEASE OF 2013

- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

With 30% of the vote, Tobe Hooper’s delirious sequel was the clear winner but it was very much Hooper’s year as our release of Lifeforce came in second place securing 15% of the vote!

FAVOURITE COVER ART OF 2013

Lifeforce

Hooper scores again but this time 1st place was awarded to Lifeforce. This category received the largest spread of releases voted for showing your hugely varied taste!

FAVOURITE REVERSIBLE SLEEVE ARTWORK OF 2013

- Squirm

As with the new illustration vote this too received a very wide selection of votes across virtually all our releases! Hooper once again proved strong gaining second place whilst Dressed to Kill came in third place.

FAVOURITE STEELBOOK OF 2013

- The Fall of the House of Usher

This was the most unstable voting category with all our SteelBooks gaining votes. The order was changing daily until a clear winner emerged with 35% of the vote. With an unusual landscape orientated design, the classic artwork for The Fall of the House of Usher was far ahead of the next three releases which all had just 1 or 2 votes between them (The Beyond, Tenebrae and Big Trouble in Little China, which were also our most recent SteelBook releases).

FAVOURITE EXTRA OF 2013

- Cannon Fodder (Lifeforce)

Hooper scores again! Following an already established trend, Hooper’s Early works (Eggshells and The Heisters) which feature as extras on our release of TCM2 came in second place. This also emerged as your favourite kind of extra with feature films as extras (I Vampiri) and alternate cuts (Baron Blood, Black Sabbath, Lifeforce) rounding out the top 5.

FAVOURITE BOOKLET

- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2

This really was no contest at all with American Freak Illuminations, our exclusive 100-page book accompanying The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 receiving more than 5 times the amount of votes of any other booklet. Once again votes were widely spread with everyone enjoying different things about our booklets, from design and essays to interviews and re-prints.

FAVOURITE RESTORATION OF 2013

- Time Bandits

This category also received a wide amount of votes, with many appreciating the restorations of MGM and others (independent Jack Hill’s gorgeous work on his own Spider Baby placed highly) along with with our own for the top two in the poll, Time Bandits and The Fury. Our restoration of Cinema Paradiso, out for just a few days at the time of voting even received votes!

We hope you enjoyed voting and congratulations to Cevin Moore who won the competition and to runners up Stuart Flanagan, David Paris and Matthew Phillips. We look forward to running the poll again later this year so keep note of all our releases come year end to bag yourself some swag!

Happy New Year!
